Formed as a merger in 1996, Suncorp-Metway is a leading banking and investment group in Australia catering to small to mid size businesses as well as retail customers. They also offer Wealth and Investment Management as well as Insurance services. Their Investment Management division alone currently manages over $13 billion in funds. For the 2008/2009 financial year, the company produced a profit over nearly $800 million before tax and aquisitions. Despite economic challenges, Suncorp paid a dividend of 40 cents per share for the full year ordinary.
