Qantas Airways was established in 1920 making it the second oldest airline across the globe. Specializing in long distance flights, primarily between Europe and the Americas to Australia, they operate nearly 250 aircraft in their total fleet and employ over 35,000 around the world. Qantas flights currently service over 160 destinations in over 40 countries with nearly 6,000 flights a week. For the 2008/2009 financial year, Qantas reported a net profit of $181 million with a $123 million after tax net gain.
