Elders, established in 1839, has a long standing reputation as an agent, supplier and advisor for primary producers in Australia. With 4,600 employees, Elders is traded on the Australian Stock Exchange under ticker code ELD. Elders Limited assets’ now include Futuris Automotive, ITC Limited hardwood plantation management, APRA licensed Rural Bank and Elders Insurance, and 380 traditional Elders rural services businesses. 2009 saw an underlying loss of $51.8 million versus 2008′s underlying profit of $84.2 million.
